TRAVEL JOURNAL: KAUAI, HAWAII

Aloha! Kelli here! 🌴☀️

Hawaii is a place that has always been so near and dear to my heart. Having grandparents that lived on the island, Kauai has been like a second home to me throughout my life and if attempting to count, I've probably visited over 35 times!

I've compiled a short list of recommendations of some of my favourite spots to visit on the island, including a peek into what I wore on my last trip and things I got up to. Summer is- of course- my favourite season, so it was the perfect opportunity to bring along some new pieces from our Summer '24 collection and give them their time in the sun.

What to eat:

Ama: https://www.amahanalei.com/

An en plein air dining experience with the most spectacular view of the mountains. Delicious cocktails and noodle dishes that will warm your soul with a low-key atmosphere. Fun fact: I once was seated beside Lauren Conrad here and I will never stop talking about it!!

Bar Acuda: https://www.cudahanalei.com/

On the North Shore, this tapas-style restaurant is often revered as one of the best spots to eat on the Island. A must-visit for foodies, but be sure to make your reservation in advance to secure your spot!

Beach house: https://www.the-beach-house.com/

On the South Shore, full of absolutely delicious eats but arguably an even more delicious place to watch the sunset. We've spotted many a sea turtle here!

Take out at Panchos Pizza: https://www.panchoshawaii.com/

A hole-in-the-wall pizza place with the tastiest pies! Our favourite thing to do is grab one to go and eat it on the beach. Dinner with a view!

Java Kai: https://javakai.com/

Probably the cutest coffee shop ever. Both the food and beverages here are super fresh and packed with local ingredients. Stop by Shipwreck next door while sipping your latte for some sweet shopping.

What to do:

Try these hikes if you're looking for a free activity with rewarding scenic views!

Waimea Canyon hike

Sleeping Giant Trail

Na Pali Coast Kalalau Trail

Shipwreck beach hike

Shopping:

Sister Sister: https://sistersisterkauai.shop/
Owned by two actual sisters (in law), this cool-girl boutique is a great spot to check out if you're looking for some chic beachy vibes!

Hunter Gatherer: https://www.huntergathererhawaii.com/
Filled to the brim with everything to pique your curiosity, this boutique is a bohemian daydream!

Shipwrecked: https://shipwreckedkauai.com/
Chock-full of the cutest clothing, swimwear and accessories! Located right next to Java Kai so you can sip & shop!

Best beaches:

Hanalei Pier: My very favourite beach on the island! With the most spectacular views surrounded by lush mountains and crystal blue waters. The town of Hanalei is also a must-visit if you're there!

Poipu: A more popular attraction with tourists but still well worth a visit! Set up near the Marriott hotel if you're looking for nicer sand and beautiful swimming. Other regions of the beach offer plenty of coral reefs if you're more interested in snorkelling. Whales are frequently spotted at Poipu!
