RETAIL STORE MANAGER

At Sugar Blossom, we believe jewelry should tell your story and reflect who you are. In August 2022, we opened our first brick and mortar store the charming neighbourhood of St. Boniface.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Sugar Blossom Jewelry is growing and we are seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to oversee the operation of our Winnipeg storefront (138 Provencher Blvd.). The ideal candidate will combine management expertise with strategic thinking to drive business growth, optimize processes, and uphold the highest standards of service. This role requires a strong leader who can manage the following duties and responsibilities.
DUTIES INCLUDE:

Operations Management
- Overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient and profitable functioning of the store.
- Opening and closing procedures
- Coordinating with suppliers and managing shipments and service appointments.

Staff Management and Scheduling
- Creating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Providing ongoing training and performance feedback to staff.
- Training staff on product knowledge and service standards.

Sales and Financial Oversight
- Monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance against targets.
- Analyzing sales data to identify areas for improvement and growth.
- Managing store budget and controlling expenses

Customer Service
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Resolving issues, complaints, and difficult situations professionally.

Inventory and Merchandise
- Tracking inventory levels and providing reports so manager can order restocks to prevent sockouts.
- Conducting inventory counts and investigating discrepancies.
- Maintaining the store's visual merchandising standards and cleanliness.

Compliance and Safety
- Ensuring the store is secure and adheres to safety regulations.
- Maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Implementing loss prevention strategies to minimize theft.

Business Growth and Strategy
- Developing strategies to increase customer base and store traffic.
- Motivating the sales team to meet and exceed sales goals.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have jewelry knowledge and an interest in fashion and jewelry
- Minimum 2 years experience in a retail, customer service, or operations role
- Experience leading others
- Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Store Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 11am to 5:30pm, Saturday: 10am to 4pm, Sunday 12pm to 4pm

Familiarity with Shopify backend is a asset, but not a requirement
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
Part-time, approximately 25-35 hrs./week. Paid hourly.
