THE MATERIALS
Our golden rule has always been to make fun jewelry without sacrificing quality materials or practices.
All our jewelry is made from a base of brass or stainless steel and is free of lead, nickel, and cadmium. Sometimes we add tiny treasures, beads, crystals, and enamel to our jewelry. Pieces with a shiny gold finish are plated in 14K gold using an ion plating method.
Ion Plating (often called, Physical Vapor Deposition), is the most modern and durable gold plating on the market. This technique is different than the gold plating or wet plating that you’ve likely heard of– in short, its far more durable. The plating we use is 10x more resistant to corrosion than typical gold plating.

BRASS
We love to include tiny details and intricacies in our designs and brass allows us to do this. It is a durable and malleable metal made from copper and zinc. Brass is an alloy metal but as always, our jewelry never contains lead, nickel, or cadmium.
STAINLESS STEEL
This highly durable metal is tough, so it won’t tarnish and is resistant to scratches. Since it’s a hard metal, it doesn’t allow for intricate designs but is great for rings, bracelets and less intricate charms and pendants. For our silver jewelry, we use raw stainless steel.

STONES AND FINISHES
SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES
Did you know there are only 4 precious stones, and all other stones are considered semi-precious? We use a wide range of stones including quartz, jade, and citrine in our designs. Aside from their natural beauty, each semi-precious stone has a special meaning or healing property.
BEADS
We use a variety of beads to create colourful and playful jewelry. We often use Miyuki seed beads, glass beads and Swarovski crystals. All beads come in a range of sizes, shapes and colours which we hand pick for each piece.
FRESHWATER PEARLS
All our pearl pieces exclusively use freshwater pearls. No two freshwater pearls are the same and will come in many shapes and colours, but that’s part of why we love them so much.
ENAMEL
Enamel is a coating applied by hand over our 14K gold plated jewelry. Not only does it add a fun colour finish to our jewelry pieces, but enamel coating also provides added durability.
